The CO2 decaffeination process begins by first soaking our green beans in water. Once the soaking is complete, the beans are exposed to CO2 which naturally removes 99.99% of the caffeine, while leaving the oils, and other flavour components unaffected. After the extraction process, the green beans are dried and prepared for roasting, all naturally.
All Faema coffee is packaged using state of the art equipment and techniques. Each bag is individually gas flushed using nitrogen to ensure freshness, and all whole bean packages include one way air valves. These special valves allow carbon dioxide (CO2) to escape, while preventing oxygen from entering the bag.
